About Us

Located in Roughlee in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in an area that is famous for its witches. The trials of The Pendle Witches in 1612 are among the most famous witch trials in English history, and the statue of Alice Nutter can be seen in the village. Follow in their trail and take a walk up Pendle Hill.

The Rookery is owned by Danielle and Ben and has been built from the ground up in the last few years.

As a creative couple Danielle and Ben were inspired by places they had travelled and the unusual places they had stayed. They wanted to bring elements of rustic living and combine them with the industrial history of Lancashire.

The concept of The Rookery was to create a space that was unusual, interesting and not your typical holiday cottage. We wanted to build something that was a little outlandish but still had the luxury that most holiday makers want… heck I think we have done it!
